EIRICH CleanLine / Granulation

What it’s all about: Turning fine powder into a controllable process.

Fine powders are often difficult to process: they generate dust, undergo demixing,
have poor flow properties, or are difficult to feed accurately. This is exactly where
Eirich CleanLine granulation and agglomeration come into play.

The scalable one-pot processor performs targeted conversion of powders into stable, easily workable particles, with a high degree of control over the recipe, process parameters, and product quality.

What Does the Application Do?

Control particle size. Improve flow properties. Reduce dust.

With CleanLine, particle size, density, porosity, flow property, dust behavior, and homogeneity can be targetedly controlled. The Eirich mixing principle, precisely adjustable shearing forces, and the controlled addition of liquids or binders result in a reproducible granulation and agglomeration process within a closed system.
The result is granules that are easier to convey, feed, bag, tablet, further process, or dissolve. Especially for functional powders, additives, instant products, or sensitive active ingredients and ingredients, CleanLine thus provides a controlled path from difficult-to-handle powders to stable, process-compatible product forms.

Typical Challenges
  • Fine powders have poor pourability, making feeding, conveying, and bagging difficult.
  • The formation of dust complicates handling, cleaning, safety at work, and process hygiene.
  • Particle size, bulk density, or solubility cannot be set with sufficient precision in the existing process.
  • Functional powders, additives, or instant products do not achieve the desired workability.
  • Conventional methods such as spray drying or spray tower technology are too large, energy-intensive, or inflexible for certain applications.
  • Multiple individual units increase space requirements, cleaning effort, material loss, and process complexity.
The Advantages of the Eirich CleanLine

The CleanLine combines mixing, moistening, granulation, agglomeration, and optionally drying into a single system. This reduces the number of process steps, minimizes material transfers, and limits product loss. At the same time, the process remains versatile: from the initial development phase until scalable production.

When the Conventional Process Becomes Too Large

Not every application requires a spray tower, a complex production line, or multiple separate units. For select granulation and agglomeration tasks, the Eirich CleanLine can be a compact alternative—especially when flexibility, energy efficiency, ease of cleaning, and quick product changeovers are top priorities.

How to Use CleanLine

Pharma

For pharmaceutical excipients, semi-finished products, and powder formulations where trueness to the recipe, homogeneity, and controlled particle properties are critical.

Nutrition & Food

For dietary supplements, functional powders, mineral blends, plant extracts, or food additives that need to flow better, remain easy to dose, and be processed stably. Excipients should be the only topic page for CleanLine, along with the subpages.

Cosmetics

For cosmetic powders, excipients, and functionalized raw materials where consistency, distribution, and sensory properties play an important role.
